AT&T and Verizon Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge Root Method May Be Here Soon!

For those of you with an AT&T SM-G920A/SM-925A or Verizon SM-G920V/SM-G925V, you may be happy to hear that there is a root method that may work soon called “PingPongRoot” on XDA.  This is still work in progress but have been confirmed to work on many S6 models including SM-G920F, SM-G920I, SM-G9200, SM-G920P, SM-G920T, and many more.

As of now, the process involves using PingPongRoot to acquire root then using ADB commands to get SuperSU working.  We don’t actually recommend to use this root method just yet until the developers are able to implement SuperSU fully but the good news with this root method is that it does not involve using ODIN but just an APK app file.

This may also mean root method possible on the Galaxy Note 4 as the vulnerability should be identical among Samsung software.   Another point with this new root method is that since it does not involve flashing CF Auto Root or custom recovery, it will not trip your KNOX counter, so it will not void warranty.  Most likely, this root methods should be able to root AT&T or Verizon S6 and S6 Edge with locked bootloaders so stay tuned as we will update you with its progress.
