So, let’s do this, this root method will work on all model of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge except for AT&T or Verizon (which have locked bootloaders).
Step 1. Go to Settings->About device and check the model number of your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge. Mine is a T-Mobile Galaxy S6 so it says, “SM-G920T”. Make a note of this as we will need it.
Step 2. Power off your phone then hold down Volume Down, Center Home, and Power buttons until you see the warning sign like below.
Step 3. Hit Volume Up button to enter ODIN download mode then connect a micro-USB cable from your S6 or S6 Edge to your computer.
Step 4. Next, go to Autoroot.ChainFire.eu on your browser and download the appropriate CF-Auto Root file.
Step 5. Unzip the file and you should find a file ending in “tar.md5”. This is the CF-Auto root file you will need later.
Step 6. Also download ODIN3 v3.10.6 and unzip the file. Do not use older ODIN, they do not work with Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge as ODIN communication has changed.
For Mac OSX or Linux/Ubuntu, use JODIN instead of ODIN. (You will have to install Java on your Mac OSX or Linux/Ubuntu.)
