Step 7. After unzipping, double-click on Odin3 v3.10.6.exe to run the ODIN program.
Step 8. Make sure you see a blue-highlighted box with a random COM number. If you see this, you have proper Galaxy S6/S6 Edge Windows drivers. If you do not see this, download and install Galaxy S6/S6 Edge Windows drivers and run the driver program to install. Then you should see it.
Next, choose “AP” then select the CF-Auto Root file you unzipped in Step 5.
Step 9. Hit “Start” and this will start the flashing of CF-Auto Root to your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge.
Step 10. When done, you should see “RESET!” on ODIN program and your S6/S6 Edge will reboot to show something like below. This is where CF-Auto Root roots your S6/S6 Edge.
Step 11. Once rebooted, you should find a new app called “SuperSU” in your app drawer.
Step 12. You can verify you have full root by installing and running a root app like Titanium Backup app. If you see superuser request window like below, congrats! You have successfully rooted your Galaxy S6/S6 Edge!
Q: Can I still get OTA updates after using this root method?
A: Yes, you may have to unroot and remove root while taking OTA, you can unroot easily by using the SuperSU app.
